Editor’s Note: Ord. No. 161-2006, adopted 7-24-2006 and subsequently repealed 1-22-2007 by Ord. No. 174-2007, added provisions to this chapter pertaining to conflicts of interest in awarding contracts to campaign contributors as well as a new Chapter 14, “Pay to Play and Withholding Public Contracts from Substantial Political Contributors,” to the Code and amendments to the Personnel and Policy Manual of the Township.
The provisions of the Local Government Ethics Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:9-22.1 et seq., as the same may be amended and supplemented from time to time, are hereby incorporated herein as though set forth at length.
No person shall be sworn in to any office or position nor be appointed to any office or position nor assume any office or position nor continue in any office or position without having first complied with the provisions of the Local Government Ethics Law regarding annual submittal of a financial disclosure statement as set forth herein, if applicable to such office or position.
By §§ 13-2 and 13-3, the provisions of the Local Government Ethics Law are made neither more nor less restrictive. Sections 13-2 and 13-3 are intended only to establish a precondition of assuming or continuing in any office or position with the Township and shall not in any way disturb the jurisdiction of the Local Finance Board in the Division of Local Government Services in the Department of Community Affairs as set forth in the Local Government Ethics Law.
