It shall be unlawful hereafter for any person or persons, corporation or corporations to engage in the business of operating and maintaining gasoline and oil stations, commonly called "service stations" and automobile garages, or to conduct any street stands for the sale or distribution of gasoline, oil or other automobile fuel or lubricant, without first obtaining a license for such purpose as hereinafter provided.
Any person or persons, corporation or corporations desiring a license to conduct and operate any of the businesses aforesaid shall make application in writing to the Township Council, stating the exact location of the place or places where such person or persons, corporation or corporations desire to conduct such business, the name and address of the owner of the premises and of the tenant and occupant thereof, as well as the person who desires to engage in such business.
Upon receipt of the application, the Township Council may request such further and other information as it deems necessary, and may proceed, by its agents and servants, to an inspection of the premises and location of the proposed business.
After investigation as aforesaid, said Township Council may grant such license, or if in the opinion of said Council, the said business may create a condition hazardous to the public health, welfare or safety, may refuse to grant such license.
Any person or persons, corporation or corporations to whom a license as aforesaid is granted shall exhibit the same in a conspicuous place about the premises thus licensed; and the said license shall apply only to the person or persons, corporation or corporations and to the particular place or places to whom and for which the same is granted, and shall not be transferable.

Every application shall be accompanied by a fee of $100, which shall be retained as a license fee if granted and shall be returned to the applicant in case the same is refused.
Any person or persons, corporation or corporations violating this chapter , or any section thereof, shall be punished as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article I, § 1-14, in the discretion of the Judge before whom such conviction shall be had.
