It shall be a violation of this chapter for
any person, firm or corporation to:
A. Obstruct, hinder, delay, or interfere by force or
otherwise with the Fire Department or Fire Safety Bureau in the exercise
of any power or the discharge of any function or duty under the provisions
of this chapter.
B. Prepare, utter, or render any false statement pertaining
to reports, documents, plans, or specifications permitted or required
under the provisions of this chapter.
C. Render ineffective or inoperative, or fail to properly
maintain, any protective equipment or system installed, or intended
to be installed, in a building or structure.
D. Refuse or fail to comply with a lawful ruling, action,
order, or notice of the Fire Prevention Bureau.
E. Violate, or cause to be violated, any of the provisions
of this chapter.
F. Refuse to provide identification and/or vehicle registration
information.
The Fire Official and/or Fire Inspector(s) shall
be empowered to issue a Municipal Court summons for violations of
this chapter.
Any person, firm, or corporation found guilty
in the municipality for a violation of the provisions of this chapter
shall be subject to a fine of not less than $25 nor more than $1,000
or imprisonment for a period not exceeding 90 days, or both. Each
and every day a violation continues shall be separate offense. Such
penalty shall not relieve the violator of the duty to take corrective
actions.
