Pursuant to and in accordance with the provisions of the New York State General Municipal Law § 122-b, the City of Norwich Fire Department is hereby authorized to charge fees for the general ambulance service provided by the said paid Fire Department.
Fees and charges for such general ambulance service shall be established by the Common Council of the City of Norwich and may be modified at the discretion of such Common Council from time to time.
For purposes of this article only, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
GENERAL AMBULANCE SERVICE
Service with the purpose of transporting sick or injured persons found within the boundaries of the municipality or within any area for which the City has contracted to provide ambulance service, pursuant to § 209-b, Subdivision 1, of the General Municipal Law, to a hospital, clinic, sanitarium or other place for treatment of such illness or injury or transport from such treatment facility to a patient's place of residence or other location.
