The purpose of this chapter is to authorize designated public servants of the Village of Greenwood Lake to issue and serve appearance tickets in connection with the violations of state statutes, local laws or local rules and regulations of the Village of Greenwood Lake and to issue such other papers and pleadings as may be necessary to prosecute such violations in court, administrative and any other proceedings.
The following public servants of the Village of Greenwood Lake are hereby designated and authorized to issue and serve appearance tickets with respect to violations of state statutes, local laws and local rules or regulations of the Village that such designated public servants are respectively required or authorized to enforce:

New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, New York State and Village of Greenwood Lake Code Chapter 120, Zoning, Chapter A122, Subdivision Regulations and all other laws, rules and regulations relating to the health, safety or welfare of the occupants, owners, guests, invitees or persons within any building or the users of any premises
Supervisor of the Department of Public Works and Building Inspector
All local laws, rules and regulations of the Village of Greenwood Lake regarding the use, maintenance, repair and cleaning of Village streets and sidewalks and garbage collection
An appearance ticket other than for a parking violation shall be served personally, except that an appearance ticket issued for the violation of Chapter 120, Zoning, or of a local building or sanitation code, may be served in any manner authorized for service under § 308 of the Civil Practice Law and Rules.

A copy of the appearance ticket, accompanied by an affidavit of service, shall be delivered to the Clerk for the Village Justice prior to the appearance date.
Nothing contained in this chapter shall be deemed or construed to preempt the issuance or service of appearance tickets by another person authorized to so issue and serve.
