It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation, either
directly or through agents or employees, to exercise, carry on or
engage in the business or trade of tree trimming, tree removal or
acting as a tree surgeon without first purchasing a license therefore
as herein provided.

An application for a license under this Chapter shall be accompanied
by proof of public liability insurance of at least one hundred thousand
dollars ($100,000.00) per person and three hundred thousand dollars
($300,000.00) per occurrence, property damage of at least one hundred
thousand dollars ($100,000.00) per occurrence, and workers compensation
insurance as required by law. All coverages must show a coverage period
of not less than one (1) year, with the applicant as named insured.

The application for a license hereunder or a renewal thereof
shall be accompanied by a fee of thirty dollars ($30.00), and shall
be presented to the City Clerk of the City.

All licenses required by this Chapter shall begin on the first
day of July of each year and shall be good through June 30 of the
following year, at which time any and all licenses may be renewed
for a period of one (1) year upon the requirements of this Chapter
being met.

Any person who either directly or indirectly engages, exercises
or carries on business or trade provided in this Chapter without having
procured a license, or who cancels an existing insurance policy required
herein after obtaining such a license, shall be deemed guilty of an
ordinance violation. Each day that any person shall engage in the
business in violation of the provisions of this Chapter shall be deemed
a new and separate offense.
