The Mayor or any member of the police force of the Borough of
Kenhorst, Berks County, Pennsylvania, is hereby authorized to remove
and impound or to order the removal and impounding of any motor vehicle
parked on or along any of the streets or highways of the Borough of
Kenhorst, Berks County, Pennsylvania, in violation of any of the provisions
of the law or of any ordinance of the Borough of Kenhorst, Berks County,
Pennsylvania; provided, no motor vehicle shall be removed or impounded
except in strict adherence to the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The Mayor or any member of the police force of the Borough of
Kenhorst, Berks County, Pennsylvania, or any person duly authorized
by them, may enter upon private property at all reasonable hours for
the purpose of inspecting motor vehicles, posting notices thereon,
and removing and impounding such motor vehicle, and it shall be unlawful
for any person to prevent the Mayor or any member of the police force
of the Borough of Kenhorst, Berks County, Pennsylvania, or any person
authorized by them, from entering on private property for purposes
of carrying out his duties hereunder or to interfere with him in the
lawful performance of his duties under the provisions of this article.
The removal, impounding and disposition of any motor vehicles
under this article shall be accomplished in strict accordance with
the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania applying to motor vehicles.
It is hereby declared that the enactment of this article is
necessary for the protection, benefit and preservation of the health,
safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the Borough of Kenhorst,
Berks County, Pennsylvania.
Words and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the
meanings ascribed to them in the Vehicle Code of Pennsylvania, as
now in force, or as hereafter amended, enacted, except in those instances
where the context clearly indicates a different meaning. The singular
shall include the plural and the masculine shall include the feminine.
