[Adopted 11-5-1979 as §§ 4-17 to 4-18 of the 1979 Revised General Ordinances]
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
PUBLIC PLACE
Any park, playground, recreation center, or other area in the Township owned, used or maintained by the Township and is devoted to active or passive recreation, and shall include any area dedicated as a park site or as a park-school site. It shall also include any school grounds, school building, playground or other area that is owned, used or maintained by the Board of Education of the Township.
A. 
No person shall bring or carry into, or have in his possession, in any public place as herein defined, any alcoholic beverage as defined in the Alcoholic Beverage Law (N.J.S.A. 33:1-1) for the purpose of drinking the same therein.
B. 
No person shall drink any alcoholic beverage in a public place.
C. 
Notwithstanding anything to contrary in this section, the Council of the Township of Livingston may allow by resolution the consumption of beer and wine to be sold by an authorized vendor in a designated location for a particular date time.
