There is hereby established a department of the municipal government
which shall be known as the "Street Department." It shall embrace
the Streets and Alleys Committee, the Street Superintendent, and the
employees. The Village Engineer shall serve as ex-officio officer.
The Village Board standing Streets and Alleys Committee shall
exercise a general supervision over the affairs of the Street Department.
It shall ascertain the needs and conditions thereof and shall, from
time to time, report the same to the Mayor and Village Board.
