There is hereby created, within the Borough of Green Lane, the position of Code Enforcement Officer, whose duty it shall be to conduct all necessary inspections, act upon all applications for permits and prosecute all violations of those municipal ordinances specifically set forth herein.
The Code Enforcement Officer shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the Borough Council. Appointments to the position shall be made at the Council's reorganization meeting with the duration of such appointments being two years. Should an appointed Code Enforcement Officer resign or be terminated by Council during his two-year term, Council shall, within 30 days of such resignation or termination, make an interim appointment of another person to serve as Code Enforcement Officer until the next succeeding reorganization meeting of the Borough Council.
The Borough Council shall from time to time, but in no instance more often than once in each calendar year, establish the compensation to be paid to its Code Enforcement Officer.
The office of Code Enforcement Officer shall have no administrative or enforcement authority with respect to the Green Lane-Marlborough Housing Sanitation Code of 1968, or with respect to Ord. No. 90-6 adopted by the Borough Council of the Borough of Green Lane and approved by the Mayor on July 5, 1990, adopting by reference the BOCA National Fire Prevention code, Eighth Edition, 1990, as the Fire Prevention Code of the Borough of Green Lane [Part 3].
