There is hereby established in and for the Township
the office of Assistant to the Tax Collector of the Township of South
Hackensack. Said officer shall be appointed by the Township Committee
annually for a term commencing January 1 and ending December 31.
Said officer shall be and perform the duties
of Assistant to the Tax Collector. At all times in the performance
of the duties of his or her office, the Assistant to the Tax Collector
shall be subject to the direction and control of the Tax Collector.
In addition to the other duties of the office as Assistant to the
Tax Collector, he or she shall perform such clerical services in connection
with the work of the Tax Collector's office as may be required by
that officer. The Assistant to the Tax Collector shall receive such
salary as may from time to time be provided by the Salary Ordinance
of the Township,[1] to be paid in the manner therein stipulated.
