[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Northport 10-4-1966 by L.L. No. 3-1966 as Ch. 5 of the 1966 Code. Amendments noted where applicable.]
There is hereby established the office of Village Attorney as the chief legal officer of the Village of Northport.
The Village Attorney shall have such duties, power and authority as provided by law and as determined by the Board of Trustees from time to time.

A. 
The Village Attorney shall be appointed for a term of two years at the annual meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Northport.

B. 
The Village Attorney shall receive such compensation as shall be fixed by the Board of Trustees at the organizational meeting.[1]
