Any person who shall operate a vehicle or tractor at a speed in excess of that established therefor upon any highway or portion thereof specified in this section shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay the appropriate penalty set forth in the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq.).

§ 213-7 Traffic signals at certain intersections.

At the following intersections, official traffic signals shall be erected (or if heretofore erected are hereby ratified), and traffic at such intersections shall be directed by such signals:

(1)

Main Street and Pickering Street.

(2)

Main Street and White Street.

(3)

East Main Street and Taylor Street and Richards Street.

(4)

West Main Street and Route 28.

Any operator of a vehicle or tractor who shall disobey the directions of any traffic signal shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay the appropriate penalty set forth in the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq.)

§ 213-8 One-way highways established.

§ 213-9 Regulation of U-turns.

U-turns shall be regulated as set forth in the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq.).

§ 213-10 Through highways established.

The following highways are hereby established as through highways, and the operator of every vehicle or tractor upon approaching any such highway at any intersection thereof (except for such intersections where there are now or shall hereafter be located official traffic signals) shall come to a full stop, within a reasonable distance, before entering any such through highway:

Any operator of a vehicle or tractor who shall fail to come to a full stop, within a reasonable distance, before entering any such through highway, as hereinabove required, shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay the appropriate penalty set forth in the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq.)

§ 213-11 Stop intersections established.

The following intersections (in addition to highways intersecting with the through highways established by § 213-10 of this article) are hereby established as stop intersections, and official stop signs shall be erected (or are hereby confirmed if heretofore erected) in such a position as to face traffic approaching the second-named highway upon the first-named highway, in the direction or directions hereby indicated. All vehicles and tractors approaching any such intersection upon the first-named highway, in the direction or directions hereby indicated in each case, shall come to a full stop, within a reasonable distance, before entering any such intersection:

Any operator of a vehicle or tractor who shall fail to come to a full stop, within a reasonable distance, before entering any stop intersection, as hereinabove required, shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine and costs of prosecution and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment for not more than three days. The amount of said fine shall be set and revised from time to time by separate resolution.

§ 213-12 Yield-right-of-way intersections established.

The following intersections are hereby established as yield-right-of-way intersections and official yield signs shall be erected (or are hereby ratified if heretofore erected) in such a position as to face traffic approaching the second-named highway from the first-named highway, in the direction or directions hereby indicated. All vehicles and tractors approaching any such intersection upon the first-named highway, in the direction or directions hereby indicated, shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle in the intersection or approaching on the second-named highway so closely as to constitute an immediate hazard during the time that the operator of such vehicle or tractor is moving across or within such intersection:

Any operator of a vehicle or tractor who shall fail to yield the right-of-way, as hereinabove required, shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay the appropriate penalty set forth in the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq.)

§ 213-13 Certain classes of vehicles prohibited on certain highways.

It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any vehicle or tractor, except a passenger vehicle (but not including any passenger vehicle drawing any trailer or towing any other vehicle), upon any of the following portions of the highways in the Borough:

Any person who shall violate any provision of this section shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay the appropriate penalty set forth in the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq.); provided that nothing herein shall prohibit the operation of any commercial vehicle or tractor upon any highway or portion thereof listed hereinabove where such operation thereon shall be necessary in order to pick up or deliver any goods, wares, merchandise or material from or to any premises located upon any such highway or portion thereof.

§ 213-14 Vehicle weight limits established.

It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any motor vehicle or other vehicle, tractor, trailer, or tractor-trailer combination having a gross weight in excess of 30,000 pounds on any highway in the Borough of Brookville. Any person who shall violate any provision of this section shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay the appropriate penalty set forth in the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq.)

§ 213-15 Unlawful to operate motor vehicles or tractors on highways closed for construction or repair.

It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any vehicle or tractor upon any highway in the Borough that is under construction, resurfacing or repair, in disregard of any official sign, barricade or notice that the same is closed to vehicular traffic. Any person who shall violate any provision of this section shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay the appropriate penalty set forth in the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq.).

§ 213-16 Play highways authorized.

The Mayor is hereby authorized to designate as play highways, whenever he shall deem such action advisable, and for whatever period of time directed by him, any portion of any highway in the Borough whereon sledding and coasting shall be permitted. Such highway shall be set apart for the purpose under the direction of the Mayor. No person shall operate any motor vehicle or tractor upon any play highway at any time when such highway shall be so designated, except in case of emergency, with special permission of the Mayor or of the police officer in charge, who shall first clear such play highway of all persons using such highway for the purpose for which it was set aside. Any person who shall violate any provision of this section shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay the appropriate penalty set forth in the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq.).[1]

§ 213-17 Loading zone established.

The portion of Barnett Street between its intersection with Butler Street and Church Street is hereby established as an on-roadway loading zone as defined in the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code, 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3345(h) and 67 Pa. Code, Chapter 104.3(b)(2).
