The boundary limits of the Borough of Brookville are hereby established as a zone in which motor vehicles may remain standing without lights, and all streets and highways within such boundary limits are hereby designated as highways where motor vehicles may remain standing without lights.
Wherever a space shall be marked off on any street for the parking of an individual vehicle, every vehicle there parked shall be parked within the lines bounding such space, and the vehicle tires shall be parked on the street side of the curb and may not be parked on the curb or beyond the curbline. When parallel parking, vehicles shall be drawn up to the right-hand curb and stopped not more than six inches from the curb and parallel thereto.

B. 
Double parking is prohibited within the Borough except for such time as may actually be required for loading and unloading of passengers or materials.
Parking is hereby prohibited on all bridges located in the Borough at any and all times.
Parking is hereby prohibited on Main Street in the Borough at any and all times between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
No person shall park a vehicle, or allow the same to remain parked, for longer than the time herein indicated, in any of the following locations, at any time on the days and between the hours herein indicated:

General rule. Except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or to protect the safety of any person or vehicle or in compliance with law or the directions of a police officer or official traffic control device, no person shall:
A. 
Stop, stand or park a vehicle:
(1) 
On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge or curb of a street.
(2) 
On a sidewalk.
(3) 
Within an intersection.
(4) 
On a crosswalk.
(5) 
Between a safety zone and the adjacent curb within 30 feet of points on the curb immediately opposite the ends of a safety zone, unless a different length is indicated by official traffic control devices.
(6) 
Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when stopping, standing or parking would obstruct traffic.
(7) 
Upon any bridge or other elevated structure upon a highway.
(8) 
On any railroad tracks.
(9) 
In the area between roadways of a divided highway, including crossovers.
(10) 
At any place where official signs prohibit stopping.
(11) 
No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle in violation of posted prohibitions and directions or in disobeyance of directions by a Borough-authorized attendant.
B. 
Stand or park any vehicle:
(1) 
In front of a public or private driveway.
(2) 
Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
(3) 
Within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection.
(4) 
Within 30 feet upon the approach to any flashing signal, stop sign, yield sign or traffic control signal located at the side of a roadway.
(5) 
Within 20 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station or, when properly sign posted, on the side of a street opposite the entrance to any fire station within 75 feet of the entrance.
(6) 
On a limited access highway unless authorized by official traffic control devices.
(7) 
In a fire lane, as designated by signs, curb markings or pavement markings.
(8) 
At any place where official signs prohibit standing.
C. 
Park a vehicle:
(1) 
Within 50 feet of the nearest rail of a railroad crossing.
(2) 
At any place where official signs prohibit parking.
Any person who shall violate any provision of this Article III shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay the appropriate penalty set forth hereinafter, it shall be the duty of the peace officers of the Borough or the authorized Borough attendant to report to the Mayor all violations of any provisions of this Article III, indicating, in each case, the section thereof violated, the license number of the vehicle involved in such violation, the location where such violation took place, the time of such violation, and any other facts that might be necessary in order to secure a clear understanding of the circumstances attending such violation. The peace officer or authorized Borough attendant making such report shall also attach to every such vehicle a notice that such vehicle was parked in violation of this Article III, which notice shall contain instructions to the owner or operator of such vehicle that if he shall report to the office of the Chief of Police and pay, for the use of the Borough, as follows:
A. 
For violations of §§ 213-19, 213-20, 213-24: the sum of $5 within 96 hours after the time of such notice, or if he shall place such sum of $5 enclosed within the envelope provided, in any of the special parking fine boxes installed at various locations within the Borough, or the office of the Chief of Police within such time limit, the same shall save such violator from prosecution and from payment of the fine and costs herein prescribed. After said ninety-six-hour period, the fine shall be increased to $15, and after 30 calendar days from the time of such notice the fine shall be increased to $25, plus the costs of prosecution and penalties.
B. 
For violations of §§ 213-21, 213-22 and 213-25: the sum of $50 plus the costs of prosecution.
