[§§ 19-1 to 19-4 of the 1967 Code]
A. 
There shall be a standing Finance Committee to consist of nine voters, no one of whom shall hold any other Town office, and the election to any other Town office shall terminate the individual's membership.
B. 
The Select Board shall appoint the members of the Finance Committee.
C. 
The present members of the Finance Committee previously appointed shall continue in office until the expiration of their respective terms and, in addition, the Select Board shall appoint in the year 1940 five men, three for a term of three years, one for a term of two years, and one for a term of one year, and each year succeeding 1940, three men for a term of three years.
D. 
Any vacancy in their number shall be filled by the Select Board, and the member or members then appointed shall serve for the unexpired term.
E. 
The terms of service of members of the Finance Committee shall terminate at the dissolution of the third Annual Town Meeting following an appointment.
F. 
The members of the Finance Committee shall serve without pay.
A. 
It shall be the duty of the Finance Committee to investigate and report to the Town, with their recommendations, all pertinent facts relating to any article in the warrant, the subject matter of which pertains to the appropriation or expenditure of money, the creation of a debt, or the disposition of Town property. For this purpose the Committee shall have access to all books, vouchers, and other documents and papers belonging to the Town.
B. 
The Committee shall confer or consult with such departments, officers, employees or committees as may have information concerning the subject matter under consideration, and it shall be the duty of all departments, officers, employees or committees to communicate to said Finance Committee such information as they may possess relating to the same.
C. 
The Finance Committee may also consider any and all municipal questions for the purpose of making reports and recommendations to the Town.
