The Village of Nassau shall install and maintain
traffic control devices when and as required under the provisions
of this chapter, to make effective the provisions of this chapter,
and may install and maintain such additional traffic control devices
as it may deem necessary to regulate, warn or guide traffic under
the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York, subject to the
provisions of §§ 1682 and 1684 of that law.
No person shall engage in sleigh riding or sliding
upon any street or sidewalk in the Village, except at such times and
in such places as may be designated by the Board of Trustees.
No person shall drive or cause to be driven
or propelled any horse or other animal, wagon or vehicle of any kind,
including snowmobiles and motorcycles, on any of the sidewalks or
crosswalks of said Village, except to cross the same.
Nothing contained in §§
111-4 and
111-5 shall be construed to prevent the Board of Trustees of the Village from granting express permits or licenses for any special or general use of any such street, sidewalk or place as such Board may, in its discretion, deem reasonable and proper.
