A. 
Each owner, tenant or tenants or persons in possession of each tract of land within the limits of the Town of Belvidere having a sidewalk parallel to the public road thereon, whether such land may have a building or buildings thereon or may be vacant land shall remove or caused to be removed the snow and/or ice from said sidewalk within 24 hours after each snowfall shall have ceased.
B. 
No person or owner, tenant or occupant of any premises abutting on any street shall throw, place or deposit snow or ice into or on any street or any waterway within the Town of Belvidere, it being the intent and purpose of this provision to prohibit all persons from throwing, casting, placing or depositing snow and ice which accumulates within the private property belonging to that person on the sidewalks, streets or waterways of the Town.

If such owner, tenant or tenants or persons in possession of any such tract of land shall fail to remove or cause to be removed such snow from said sidewalk within the time hereinabove specified, the Division of Street Services of the Town of Belvidere may, without further notice to such owner, tenant or tenants or persons in said possession of said tract of land, remove said snow from said sidewalk, and the Town Clerk shall thereupon submit a bill to such owner, tenant or tenants or persons in possession for the cost of such snow removal, which bill shall be not less than $50. If said bill is not paid within 30 days from the date of mailing the same, the amount thereof shall be added to the tax bill of such owner and collected by the Collector of Taxes in the same manner as other municipal taxes.

In addition to the other charges provided for in this article, any person violating any provision of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding $500 or by imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding 90 days, or both.
