Any person desiring to demolish an existing building structure within the corporate limits of the City of Bowling Green, Missouri, must first apply for and obtain a demolition permit from the City, unless such demolition work must be performed on an emergency basis, in which case the person conducting the work shall notify the City and apply for the required demolition permit no later than the third business day following the commencement of such demolition work. The City shall make available standard forms for the application for such a demolition permit and a fee in the amount of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) shall be charged and paid prior to such permit being issued. The applicant is also required to submit a demolition bond in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) at the time the application is submitted. If a building permit is sought on the same real estate within six (6) months from the date of the demolition permit, the building permit applicant shall receive a twenty-five dollar ($25.00) credit toward the fee for said building permit.
