No person or persons shall fire or discharge any revolver, pistol, firearms or guns, air gun or slingshot or other device or article upon any public property or private property not his own which might injure persons or property within the said Borough of Glassboro. This provision shall not apply to hunters of wild game properly licensed by the State of New Jersey, nor to the law enforcement officials of the Borough of Glassboro during the proper execution of their duties. No person properly licensed to hunt wild game shall discharge any firearm across or upon any state, county or municipal road or highway, and no person except the owner or lessee of the property shall, for the purpose of hunting, taking or killing any bird or animal, discharge a firearm within 300 feet of any occupied dwelling in this state.
No person shall have in his possession, store or keep any combustible fireworks of any kind, dynamite, nitroglycerin, giant powder or other explosives within the Borough limits.
No person, firm or corporation shall sell or store gunpowder, gun shells or cartridges without having first obtained a permit from the Chief of the Fire Department, who shall inspect the place where same is to be kept.

A. 
Upon application in writing accompanied with a suitable bond, the governing body may grant a permit for the public display of fireworks by those groups or persons approved by the governing body. After such permit shall have been granted, the sale, possession, use and distribution of fireworks by the holder of the permit shall be lawful for that purpose only.
B. 
All such applications for permits shall set forth the date, the hour, place of making such display and place of storing fireworks prior to the display, and further, the name or names of the person, persons, firm, partnership, corporation, association or group of individuals making the display; the name of the person or persons in charge of the igniting, firing, setting off, exploding or causing to be exploded of such fireworks. The location of the storage place shall be subject to the approval of the Chief of Fire Department of the municipality.
C. 
The bond to be filed by the licensee shall be in the sum not less than $2,500 and conditioned for the payment of all damages which may be caused either to a person or persons or to property by reason of the display and arising from any acts of the licensee, his agents, employees or subcontractors. Such surety shall run to the Borough of Glassboro for the use and benefit of any person, persons or the owner or owners of any property so damaged, or to such persons authorized by law to bring action on behalf of the aforesaid persons.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to a penalty of not more than $2,000, imprisonment for not more than 90 days or a period of community service for not more than 90 days, or any combination thereof, in the discretion of the Municipal Court.
