Any person over the age of 18 who has been convicted of a violation of any crime against a minor, as listed in N.J.S.A. 2C:7-2, and as a result of said conviction is required to register with the proper authorities pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2C:7-1 et seq., Registration and Notification of Release of Certain Offenders, shall be prohibited from residing or living within 2,500 feet of any school, park, playground or day-care center in the Borough of Ridgefield.
A person over the age of 18 who resides or lives within 2,500 feet of any school, park, playground or day-care center in the Borough and who has been convicted of a violation of any crime against a minor, as listed in N.J.S.A. 2C:7-2, and as a result of said conviction is required to register with the proper authorities pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2C:7-1 et seq., Registration and Notification of Release of Certain Offenders, shall have 60 days from receipt of a written notice of the prohibition set forth in this chapter to move from the prohibited residence to a residence that is not prohibited under this chapter. Failure to move to a location which is not in violation of this chapter within the time period set forth shall constitute a violation of this section. This section shall not apply to a person who has established a residence prior to September 26, 2005.
Any person violating the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to punishment as follows: a fine of not less than $500 nor more than $1,000; imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months; and a period of community service not exceeding 90 days.
