The chief inspector and each of the duly appointed inspectors of the Middle Department Association of Fire Underwriters are hereby authorized and deputized as agents of the Borough of Ridgefield to make inspections and reinspections of all electrical installations heretofore and hereafter described and to approve or disapprove the same. In no event, however, shall the cost or expense of such inspections and reinspections be a charge against the Borough of Ridgefield.

It shall be the duty of the Electrical Inspector to report, in writing, to the Building Inspector, whose duty it shall be to enforce all provisions of this code, all violations or deviations from or omissions of the electrical provisions of the Building Code applicable to the Borough of Ridgefield and of all ordinances and the Building Code as referred to in this Part 8, insofar as any of the same apply to electrical wiring.
B.
The Electrical Inspector shall make inspections and reinspections of electrical installations in and on properties in the Borough of Ridgefield upon the written request of the Building Inspector of the Borough of Ridgefield, or as herein provided.
C.
The Electrical Inspector is authorized to make inspections and reinspections of electrical wiring, installations, devices, appliances and equipment in or on properties within the Borough of Ridgefield where he deems it necessary for the protection of life and property.

He shall authorize the issuing of a certificate of compliance when electrical installations and equipment are found satisfactory upon inspection. He shall direct that a copy of the certificate of compliance be sent to the Borough of Ridgefield to the attention of the Building Inspector.
The Inspector shall, upon written request from the Chief of the Fire Department, make or cause to be made an inspection of any existing electrical installation when, in the opinion of the Chief of the Fire Department, the condition of the installation warrants such an inspection.

When an electrical installation which is connected to the supply of electricity has been reported in violation of the requirements of this Part 8, the Chief of the Fire Department shall notify the person, firm or corporation owning or using the installation. If, after a period of 10 days has elapsed, or such further reasonable time as may be granted upon request, the installation has not been approved by the Middle Department of Fire Underwriters, the Chief of the Fire Department shall have the authority to disconnect or order the disconnection of electrical service to said electrical installation. In cases of emergency, when necessary for safety to persons or property, or when electrical equipment may interfere with the work of the Fire Department, the Chief of the Fire Department shall have the authority to disconnect or order the disconnection immediately of service to electrical installations.
A.
