Said probation may be extended by the Health Officer/Administrator for one or more extended periods upon the Health Officer/Administrator's written notification of said extension to the probationary employee and the President.
B.
At the Board meeting prior to the ending of the probationary period and any extension for each employee, the Health Officer/Administrator shall recommend either permanent status, continued probation or termination for the employee. The recommendation of the Health Officer/Administrator may be approved or modified by the Board or shall be deemed accepted if the Board takes no action inconsistent with the recommendations.
The Health Officer/Administrator, in his/her discretion, may terminate or suspend new employees during the probationary period, and said termination and reduction shall not be subject to any of the appeal or grievance procedures provided herein. Said termination or suspension shall be subject to Board approval.
Probationary employees shall not be eligible for annual salary increments. Annual salary increments, if any, shall be retroactive to the date the employee attains permanent status.
