Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:14-15f(b), all employees of the Borough
shall be required to receive their net pay through direct deposit
in a specific banking institution. Compliance with this section shall
be mandatory.
Should an employee seek a special exemption from the requirement of § 18-8, such request shall be made in writing to the Chief Financial Officer for consideration by the governing body. A special exemption shall only be granted in exceptional circumstances. Exemptions may also be granted for seasonal or temporary employees.
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:14-15f(c), the Borough shall make available
any information concerning net pay, any accompanying information approved
for distribution with net pay, and W-2 forms in accordance with federal
law, only on the internet with restricted access and policies and
procedures to protect the integrity and confidentiality of the information.
The Chief Financial Officer is authorized to issue any internal
policies and procedures necessary to implement the terms of this article.
The terms of this article shall be effective January 1, 2020.
