Sick leave for new employees shall start accumulating at the date of
employment. Sick leave shall be deducted at the rate of one day for a regular
workday.

Employees shall accumulate sick leave at the rate of one day per month
of full-time employment. Sick leave may be accumulated up to 300 days.

A. Any full-time employee, regardless of date of hire, may,
after he or she accumulates 150 days of sick leave, elect to receive pay for
additional days of sick leave in lieu of accumulating them. However, no more
than 12 days of sick leave may be paid to an employee in any one fiscal year.
B. The Village Treasurer shall promulgate rules to implement
this section.
An accurate record of all sick time shall be kept by the Village Clerk,
and all department heads shall submit monthly to said Clerk such information
as may be necessary in the keeping of such records.

A. Employees, regardless of date of hire, who retire (or
die) prior to July 1, 1986, shall receive, as a retirement bonus (or their
spouse or estate in the event of death), pay for all unused sick leave up
to the maximum of 300 days computed at the rate of pay at the time of retirement
or death.
B. Employees, regardless of date of hire, who retire (or
die) after June 30, 1986, shall have no unused sick leave paid to them (or
their spouse or estate in case of their death) upon retirement or death.
