There is hereby created in the Department of Probation a Division
of Detention Services. The Division of Detention Services shall operate
any secure or nonsecure detention facilities and detention-related
programs which shall be authorized by the County Legislature for the
reception, temporary accommodation and care of alleged or adjudicated
juvenile delinquents and persons in need of supervision held at the
direction and order of the Family Court. Such secure and nonsecure
facilities shall be administered in compliance with applicable state
law.
