[Adopted 4-4-2001 by Res. No. 276-2001 (Ch. 631, Art. VII,
of the 1985 Code)]
The County of Suffolk hereby elects to grant performance-of-duty
disability retirement benefits to the Sheriff, Deputy Sheriffs, Undersheriffs,
or correction officers, pursuant to §§ 63-b and 607-c
of the New York Retirement and Social Security Law, the estimated
cost of which is $732,367 for past service costs and $183,256 for
annual employer contribution increases based on current annual salaries.
The Clerk of the County Legislature shall file a certified copy
of this article with the New York State Comptroller, accompanied by
an affidavit of the County Executive that the County has received
an estimate from the Retirement System as to the cost of the benefit
provided by this article.
