The City of Arcadia, Wisconsin, hereby elects, pursuant to Ch. 66, Wis. Stats., that the term of office of the City Mayor of the City of Arcadia shall be two years commencing on the third Tuesday of April in 1958.
The Common Council of the City of Arcadia may by passage of an ordinance change the Mayor's salary.[1] The vote required for passage of such ordinance is a three-fourths vote of the members-elect of the Common Council. The Mayor's salary may only be changed in accordance with § 62.09(6), Wis. Stats.

A. 
This ordinance shall be deemed to be an amendment to the charter of the City of Arcadia relating to the terms of office of the Mayor, and § 62.09, Wis. Stats., being a part of the general charter law of the City of Arcadia, shall not apply to the terms of office of such official insofar as said section is in any way conflicting with this ordinance.
B. 
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
C. 
This is a charter ordinance and shall take effect 60 days after its passage and publication unless within such sixty-day period a referendum petition as provided by § 66.0101, Wis. Stats., shall be filed, in which event this ordinance shall not take effect until it shall have been submitted to a referendum vote of the electors and approved by a majority vote of the electors voting thereon.
D. 
The City Clerk is directed to publish this ordinance as a Class 1 notice in the City's official newspaper.

The salary of each Alderperson shall be $200 per month plus $35 for each special meeting of the Common Council, for each committee meeting, or for any other special meeting the Common Council member attends other than meetings of the Common Council, but only if attendance at such other special meeting has been approved for payment by the Common Council.
As authorized by Article I, § 80-2, of this chapter, the salary of the Mayor shall be $600 per month plus $35 for each special meeting of the Common Council, for each committee meeting, or for any other special meeting the Mayor attends other than meetings of the Common Council, but only if attendance at such other special meeting has been approved for payment by the Common Council.
This article was passed by more than a three-fourths vote of all of the members of the Common Council. The provisions of this article relating to salaries for Alderpersons shall take effect from and after the organizational meeting of the new Council on April 15, 2017, and the provisions relating to the Mayor shall take effect from and after the commencement of the next Mayoral term of office on May 1, 2017.
