[Editor's Note: The form of government in the Township of
Chatham is the Township Form which comprises Chapter 63 in Title 40A
of the New Jersey Statutes. The Administrative chapter has been drafted
in conformity of the Township law and in many instances, provisions
of the Township law have been restated in the Code. Other enabling
laws pertaining to the Administrative Chapter are N.J.S. 40A:14-118
et seq., Police; Fire Departments N.J.S. 40A:14-7 et seq., N.J.S.
2A:8-1 et seq.; Municipal Court; N.J.S. 40:55D-69, Zoning Board of
Adjustment; N.J.S. 40:55D-1, Planning Board; N.J.S. 26:3-1 et seq.,
Board of Health. Environmental Advisory Committee, N.J.S. 40:48-2
and 40:55D-27. Other authority to regulate the internal affairs of
the Township is contained in N.J.S. 40:48-2. Salaries and compensation
of officers and employees of the Township of Chatham are not included
in this Code. The Salary Ordinance is on file in the Office of the
Township Clerk and copies are available for examination by the public.]
