Any person who shall manufacture, sell, store, handle or use explosives, or conduct blasting, as those terms are defined in N.J.S.A. 21:1A-131 et seq., shall comply with the provisions of said statute as well as the provisions of all applicable regulations, including those appearing in N.J.A.C. 12:190-1.1, et seq.
Any person intending to conduct their blasting operations shall notify the Fire Official of the Borough of Ridgefield prior to conducting any blasting operations. Said notification shall include the specific location of the blasting, the intended time of the blasting and the duration of the blasting. In addition to that notification, any person intending to conduct blasting operations shall also notify the Borough’s Building Department and Police Department with the same information.
Any person violating the provisions of this article shall be subject to a fine of not less than $500 nor more than $1,000 and/or shall be subject to term of imprisonment of up to 90 days.
