Whenever the President of the Town Council, Town Solicitor and Committee on Claims shall deem the employment of expert or legal assistance to be expedient for the protection or enforcement of the Town's rights in any litigation to which the Town is or may be a party, or in which the Town may be directly or indirectly interested, they are hereby authorized to employ all such assistance as, and to the extent that they may judge the interests of the Town to require.
