[Adopted 12-10-1956 (Ch. 162, Art. II, of the 1974 Code)]
The following rules are hereby established to be followed by food service personnel in eating and drinking establishments:
A. 
Wash your hands with soap and water:
(1) 
Before you start work.
(2) 
After visiting the toilet.
(3) 
After using handkerchief or dirty clothes.
(4) 
Whenever they become soiled.
B. 
Keep your fingernails clean.
C. 
Do not put your fingers on the bowls of spoons, the tines of forks or the blades of knives.
D. 
Keep your fingers out of glasses, cups and food surfaces of eating utensils.
E. 
Keep your fingers out of prepared foods.
F. 
When coughing and sneezing, cover nose and mouth with a handkerchief.
G. 
When you have a cold, sore throat, trench mouth, boils, running sores or skin eruptions, report it to your employer and see a physician.
H. 
Do not smoke or expectorate when preparing or serving food.
I. 
Do not pile dishes upon food when serving orders.
J. 
Wear a hairnet or some other protection to prevent hair from falling into food.
K. 
Wear clean, washable outer garments when preparing or serving food.
L. 
Do not store street clothing in any room where food is prepared.
A copy of these rules shall be posted in all eating and drinking establishments in a conspicuous place where it may be seen by food service personnel.
