There is created in and for the Borough of Middlesex the office of Chief Financial Officer, which said office shall be in conformity with the statutes governing the same.
The Chief Financial Officer shall be a certified municipal finance officer, as defined in the appropriate statutes.

The Chief Financial Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor and Council for a term of four years pursuant to provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.10 which shall run from January 1 in the year in which the Chief Financial Officer is appointed.

The Chief Financial Officer shall perform the duties of that position as set forth under existing New Jersey law together with any other duties which may be assigned to him by the governing body.
The compensation of the Chief Financial Officer shall be fixed by the Mayor and Council upon the adoption of its annual Salary Ordinance.[1]
