A certain document, three copies of which are on file in the office of the Secretary of the Borough of Jersey Shore, being marked and designated as "National Electrical Code — 1990," as published by the National Fire Protection Association, be and is hereby adopted as the Electrical Code of the Borough of Jersey Shore, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, for the control of buildings and structures as herein provided; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said "National Electrical Code 1990" are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this article, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, prescribed in § 140-5 of this chapter.
In the event that the Property Maintenance Code of the Borough of Jersey Shore and the Electrical Code of the Borough of Jersey Shore contain standards which are inconsistent with each other, the more stringent standard shall apply.

Any person who shall violate any provision of this article or of the National Electrical Code hereby adopted or fail to comply therewith, or shall violate or fail to comply with any order made hereunder, or who shall do or cause to be done electrical work in violation of any detailed statement of specifications or plans submitted and approved hereunder, or any certificate or permit issued hereunder, and from which no appeal has been taken, or who shall fail to comply with such an order as affirmed or modified by the Code Enforcement Officer within the time fixed therein, shall be, upon conviction thereof, sentenced to a fine of not more than $600 plus costs and, in default of payment of said fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment not to exceed 30 days. Each day that a violation continues following notice thereof shall constitute a separate offense.
