The following fees are being assessed for any tap into the sanitary
sewerage system of the Township of Stowe in order to defray the Township's
costs, including inspection and engineering fees:
A. A tap-in fee of $5,000 is hereby imposed upon any owner or occupant
of a residential structure within the Township of Stowe; and
B. A tap-in fee of $10,000 is hereby imposed upon any owner or occupant
of a commercial structure within the Township of Stowe who desires
to tap into the sanitary sewerage system of the Township of Stowe.
Any party desiring to tap into the sanitary sewage system of
the Township of Stowe from outside the boundaries of the Township
of Stowe will be required to reach a special agreement with the Township
of Stowe before being permitted to do so.
The official authorized to issue a tap-in permit will henceforth
be the Township Ordinance Officer, and he will do so upon the advice
of the Township Engineer, with the Engineer having the right to review
and approve the plans and specifications of the project before granting
or denying permission to tap in.
The entire tap-in fee will be deposited in the general Township
treasury account.
Any property owner desiring to tap into the sanitary sewerage
system of the Township of Stowe must bear all costs involved in establishing
a lateral line and the tap into the main line, including, but not
limited to:
A. The cost of installing the lateral line.
B. The cost of tapping into the main line.
C. Any damages caused to the main line due to said tap-in.
D. Any damages to the roadbed or road surface or surrounding area.
E. Any costs involved in restoring the site to its original condition
prior to the tap, including, but not limited to, any surrounding ground
and roadbed and road surface disturbed for the installation of the
lateral line and tap-in.
The installation of any tap into the main line of the sanitary
sewage system of the Township of Stowe is subject to a mandatory inspection
to be conducted by the Township of Stowe upon completion of the tap
and prior to restoration of the surrounding ground and roadbed and
road surface to its original condition.
Any property occupant or owner who has tapped into the sanitary
sewerage system of the Township of Stowe is responsible for all costs
involved in any maintenance, repair or replacement relative to the
installed lateral line or tap-in, including any cost incident to the
restoration of the surrounding ground and roadbed and road surface
to their original condition.
The fees set forth herein may hereafter be amended by resolution
of the Board of Township Commissioners.
Any person or entity found to be guilty of a violation of this
article shall be subject to a penalty of up to $1,000, plus the payment
of the tap-in fee, if applicable.
