Effective as of the time of swearing in, commencing in 2014, the Township of Stowe shall be served by an elected Tax Collector, which position shall be filled by the voters of the Township in the elections of 2013, as provided for by the amendments and legislation enacted by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The within article shall be effective for the term of the Tax Collector following December 31, 2013, and each succeeding term thereafter, until such time as the Township may adopt a new ordinance which would specifically repeal this article, or should any change in the law of our commonwealth require modification or the like.
As provided for by the amendments to the First Class Township Code,[1] the Township shall be served by a Treasurer, who will serve at the discretion and will of the Board of Commissioners. The Treasurer of the Township shall be appointed by the Board of Commissioners of the Township and shall serve until a replacement is named by the Board of Commissioners. The Township Treasurer shall perform the duties of a treasurer of a Township of the First Class, as set forth in the applicable laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, including the First Class Township Code, together with such other duties as shall be assigned to the Treasurer by the Board of Commissioners. The compensation for the position of Treasurer shall be determined by the Board of Commissioners.
