As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
PERSON
Any natural individual, firm, partnership, corporation, association, company or organization of any kind.
No person shall rent, lease or solicit for the rental or lease of a residential or commercial real property when the person does not have a verifiable ownership interest or authorization from the owner to rent, lease or sublet the location at issue.
Persons seeking to rent or lease real property may demonstrate either an ownership interest or authorization to rent, lease or sublet real property by providing:
A. 
A fully executed and valid deed to the parcel of real property;
B. 
A fully executed agreement for the lease or rental of same; or
C. 
Proof that the person is an agent of the bona fide property owner who is authorized to rent or lease the subject property.
Violation of this article shall constitute an unclassified misdemeanor subject to a fine of up to $1,000 and/or up to six months' imprisonment.
This article shall apply to all actions occurring on or after the effective date of this article.
