The Delaware Township Community Farmers' Market Committee is hereby authorized and established to serve as an advisory committee to the Board of Health, and to be responsible for supervising market operation, recommending to the Board of Health the issuance of annual licenses, and ensuring compliance with orders of the Hunterdon County Department of Health, Delaware Township Board of Health and the other provisions of this article.
The Community Farmers' Market Committee shall consist of three members, who shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Township Committee. Members need not be residents of the Township.
The members shall be appointed for a three-year term. The members first appointed shall be appointed for terms of one, two, and three years, respectively, in such manner that the term of at least one member shall expire in each year.
The members of the Community Farmers' Market Committee shall serve without compensation.
The Community Farmers' Market Committee shall hold meetings at least two times per year and shall keep a record of its proceedings.
The Community Farmers' Market Committee shall prepare and distribute to all vendors a list of rules to ensure compliance with state health regulations. The list shall include, but not be limited to, requirements for mechanical refrigeration units for certain vendors, requirements for antibacterial wipes, and reference to applicable state, county and municipal health regulations.
The Community Farmers' Committee shall not have the authority to incur any obligation in the name of or for the account of the Board of Health or the Township.
