[Amended 8-13-1981 by Ord. No. MC-1766]
The Division of Utilities: Water and Sewer is authorized to
require the owners of all industrial water meters in the City of Camden
to have their meters tested by a qualified meter testing company not
more than once a year and not less than once every three years.
[Amended 9-22-1994 by Ord. No. MC-3038]
If the test results show that the meter is not within established
tolerance limits set by the American Water Works Association for the
particular size meter, the owner shall have an additional 10 days
to have said meter recalibrated, repaired or replaced and shall furnish
proof of said corrective action to the Division, together with an
affidavit from a qualified meter repair and testing company, or, in
the instance of a replacement, the affidavit shall be from the manufacturer
of said meter. In the event that the owner fails to comply with this
requirement, the Division shall reserve the right to recalibrate,
repair or replace the water meter, whichever is necessary, and to
levy a charge for the cost, plus a surcharge of 50% for administrative
expenses. Additionally, if a meter is replaced by the owner, the new
meter shall be of a type and size as approved by the Division.
