[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Commissioners (now the Council) of the City of Perth Amboy 1-19-49 as Ord. No. C-404. Amendments noted where applicable.]
In the event of fire occurring on board any vessel in any navigable waters in the Raritan River, Raritan Bay and Kill Van Kull, except vessels under way, such vessels may sound five (5) prolonged blasts of the whistle or siren as an alarm indicating fire on board or at the dock to which the vessel is moored. Such signal may be repeated at intervals to attract attention and is not a substitute for, but may be used in addition to, other means of reporting a fire.
The words "prolonged blast" used in this chapter shall mean a blast off from four (4) to six (6) seconds duration.
