[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee of the Township

There is hereby established a Chapter 20 of the Code of the Township of Barnegat entitled "Recreation Disability Advisory Board."
The purpose of this chapter is to establish a Recreation Disability
Advisory Board consisting of three (3) regular members and one (1)
alternate member to review and recommend to the Township Committee
recreation programs and activities for the disabled members of the
municipality. Primary emphasis shall be on current recreation facilities
and future planning and development of recreation facilities and activities.
The members of the Board shall be appointed by the Township
Committee. All members shall be uncompensated and shall be residents
of the Township of Barnegat.
A.
The term of Board members shall be as follows:
One (1) member shall be appointed for a one (1) year term
One (1) member shall be appointed for a two (2) year term
One (1) member shall be appointed for a three (3) year term
One (1) alternate member shall be appointed for a two (2) year
term
B.
Vacancies on the Board shall be filled for their unexpired term only
and all members shall serve until their respective successors are
appointed.
The Board, subject to the direction and control of the Township
Committee and the Township Recreation Director, shall have the responsibility
to perform the following:
A.
Shall recommend and review all recreation programs for the disabled.
B.
Shall review the use and operation of the township parks and recreation
facilities for use by the disabled.
C.
Shall advise and recommend rules and regulations for the public use
of said areas and all recreational programs for the disabled.
D.
Review and recommendation of future development and planning of recreational
facilities for the disabled.
In all respects, operate through and under the direction and
control of the Township Committee and the Recreation Director in accordance
with the administrative procedures established within the Township
of Barnegat.
